About Us

Hello, welcome to our gardening blog!

Since you are viewing this page, I’m guessing you want to know a little bit more about who we are, and what we have to offer you!

Who we are:

Our names are Karl and Zanna. We are a family of five, and we love to grow and eat food! I mean… who doesn’t? I’m pretty sure that collectively our favorite food is fruit of any sort, but only one of us likes carrots.

Like most families, we like to travel, hike in the mountains, swim at the beach, and have backyard bar-b-ques. None of us likes doing the dishes… or laundry. Shocker, right?

Obviously, our three kids are the most amazing kids ever! We might be a little bit biased… but only a little. Because we love them dearly, we do our best to make sure they have the support they need and are eating healthy, organic veggies! We invite you to do the same.

Why read our blog?

Organic gardening is a pastime that has arisen from a desire to get outside in the sun, get some exercise, and eat healthy organic food produced as locally as possible. How can you get any more local than your own backyard! It’s also nice to know exactly what’s been done to our food, and where it came from.

We invite you to avoid all the radiated and pasteurized food you’ll find in grocery stores, and grow your own! Not to mention lettuce with Salmonella and spinach with E. Coli. Seriously? How does that happen?

Both of us have moved more than a few time in our lives, and a garden isn’t usually something that you can just pack up and move when you do. We’ve been forced to start over many times, and have a lot of of experience getting a garden going from scratch, as well as producing food in a limited amount of space. We would like to share that experience and knowledge with you.

We are going to cover topics such as companion planting, automated watering methods, controlling pests, and what types of fertilizer to use for growing organically. We’ll also share stories on how we make gardening fun for our kids, AND… what our dog thinks of apples and potatoes.

If we haven’t covered something that you need help with, feel free to contact us. We are always happy to share what we know, and/or do some research to help you find a solution.

Our goal is to help you make the most of your garden space, and our step by step guides will help you achieve a beautiful organic garden that you can proud of!

The best of success to you!

Karl and Zanna
